Brazilian royalists confuse Prince Philip with son Charles
The Monarchist Brazil Movement, which supports the Brazilian “royal family”, made a blunder when announcing the death of Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, this Friday (9/4). Instead of publishing the photo of the prince, the monarchists used the image of the couple's eldest son, Prince Charles, close in succession to the throne.
After netizens viralized the post, the movement deleted the post.
In a note, the Monarchist Brazil complained about the repercussion of the failure, stating that it was sufficient for "a site that supports and tolerates genocidal practices applied by socialism / communism to print the error in its article and mock the mistake made".
The movement also apologized to the British royal family and "to all the followers who trust and share our work of culture and militancy".
In February, Philip was ill and was admitted as a "precautionary measure". The prince had to undergo heart surgery and was discharged after a month.
